K. Gary Sebelius was born on November 8, 1949, in Norton, Kansas. He is 72 years old.

He is the son of Elizabeth Adeline and Keith George Sebelius. His father, Keith, is a United States congressman from Kansas who served in the United States House of Representatives as a Republican.

His nomination was reported to have been held up by Kansas Sen., But later President George W. Bush appointed Julie A Robinson to the seat.

On August 2002, Sebelius was appointed to an eight-year term as a United States Magistrate Judge. He began hearing cases in February 2003 and was formally sworn in on June 11, 2003. 

Sebelius retired from the bench on February 20, 2019.
