Mick Mulvaney's Career
After completing his intermediate, he joined a law firm with James, McElroy, and Diehl from 1992 to 1997.
Later he joined his family in the home-building and real estate business. He also participated in the Owner and Presidents Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Mick was also a minority shareholder and owner-operator in Salsarita's Fresh Cantina, a Privately held regional restaurant chain.
In 2006 Mick was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives.
In 2008 he served on Judiciary, labor, commerce, industry, medical affairs, agriculture, natural resources, and corrections committees.
In 2010 he received Legislator of the year for supporting the State's Emergency Medical Service.
In 2012 he won re-election to the United State House of Representative election for South Carolina for a second term by defeating Democrat Joyce Knott.
On 2018 14 December, Donald Trump named Mick as his acting White House chief of staff.
Mick Mulvaney was mentioned as a possible replacement for Kay Coles James as president of The Heritage Foundation in 2021.
Recently CBS News hired Mick as a paid on-air contributor in march 2022.
