Manhunt is an American drama anthology television series. It depicts the hunt for Unabomber from the perspective of the FBI.

Initially, it was commissioned as a television miniseries on Discovery channel that premiered on August 1, 2017. Later in 2018, it was picked up for additional seasons that streamed on Spectrum cable service.

The first season of the series is famous for making a steady portrayal of a real-life notorious case of Ted Kaczynski, a.k.a. the Unabomber. It had a total of eight episodes.

It focused on the inner workings of the FBI through Jim Fitzgerald, played by Sam Worthington, who creates forensic linguistics to capture Kaczynski, played by Paul Bettany.

He served time in prison for eighteen years from 1985-2003. The first season narrates the time period between his wrongful conviction and release.

After 2003, he got out of prison but his story does not end there. Avery was charged with the murder of Teresa Halbach in 2005 and was later convicted for the second time in 2007. The second season of the show chronicles the events of this aftermath. 

The first season reportedly took 10 years to film. The very first episode of the documentary series premiered on Netflix on December 18, 2015. The second season of the show was released two years later on October 19, 2018.
