Alex Padilla wife Angela Padilla is a passionate health advocate. Alex and Angela live together in San Fernando Valley.

Alex is an American politician who is currently serving as the Secretary of State of California. He was appointed to the position by Governor Gavin Newsom in January 2021, and he is the first person of Latino descent to hold the office. 

Prior to becoming Secretary of State, Padilla served as a member of the California State Senate from 2006 to 2014 and as a member of the California State Assembly from 2002 to 2006. 

Padilla began his political career in 1999 as a Los Angeles City Council member. He was later elected to the California State Assembly in 2002, representing the 39th District. 

During his time in the assembly, Padilla served as the Chair of the Latino Legislative Caucus and as a member of the Budget Committee. In 2006, he was elected to the California State Senate, serving as the Energy, Utilities, and Communications Committee Chair. 

Padilla has a degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a master's degree in public administration from Havard Kennedy School.

Alex Padilla married Angela Padilla on 27 April 2012 in Van Nuys California. The wedding was at the historic Pico House.

On September 25, 2022, Alex posted a picture with his wife on his Instagram celebrating the ten years the two have spent with each other.

He wrote that while attending an event at  La Plaza de Cultura y Artes, the couple crossed the street to reminisce and explains how special the place is to them.

Who is Angela Padilla? 

Angela Padilla is the president of FundaMental Change, an organization. Angela established it to increase awareness about mental health and help people in need.

The company hosts an Annual Mental Health Symposium and sponsors Mental Health First Aid Training every year. 

She is actively involved in sharing her experiences and perspective with different organizations, schools, and audiences providing accurate mental health information and teaching people how to deal with it.

Angela was three years old when she first witnessed her mother's struggle with Bipolar and schizoaffective disorder. Being there to take care of her, she experienced the difference in mental health that comes with having a quality caretaker. 

Thus, she devoted her life to helping people in need, earning an associate degree from Los Angeles Price College and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University Northridge.

Before starting her company, Angela worked as an Assistant Vice President for the Bank of America.

The name of their three children is Alejandro Miguel Padilla, Diego Padilla, and Roman Padilla. On June 15, 2013, Alex posted a picture of a newborn baby Alejandro on his Facebook.

He loves taking his children out to have fun and there are a few pictures of his sons on his Facebook. 

Alex Padilla's Parents Were Mexican Immigrants

Alex's parents immigrated from Mexico in the 1960s and met each other in America. They fell in love and applied for a green card together his official website states.

His parents Lupe Padilla and Santos Padilla had no formal education but always believed in working hard to achieve something, for forty years Lupe worked as a cook in numerous diners and restaurants around Los Angeles while Santos spent the same forty years cleaning houses. 

Lupe taught Alex, his sister, and his brother the importance of having a good education and helping others in need. Alex used to spend his weekends attending community clean-ups and other neighborhood service projects as well.
