Which Traitors Was Filmed First? US and UK Versions Compared

UK version of Traitors was filmed first for the TV series. UK and US Traitors were shot in the remote Ardross Castle in Scotland.

As per Ardross Castle's official website, the castle is a magnificent 19th-century castle in the Scottish Baronial style set within gardens and over 100 acres of land on the River Alness.

Ardross Castle provides the perfect location for weddings, shooting, and Meetings. The property is located in Ross-shire and is available for exclusive hire for corporate and private clients.

McTaggart's family bought the castle in 1983. The Traitors UK was filmed in the summer of 2022, as per Good To. The Scottish Highlands frequently experience turbulent weather in the fall and winter. The BBC finished filming before the leaves began to fall.

The crew and actors were relatively separated during the BBC One television show production. The US version of The Traitors is based within the same Scottish mansion as the original and has more challenging assignments for the Faithfuls and Traitors.

There are, however, a few significant distinctions. Instead of Claudia Winkleman, Scottish actor Alan Cumming will anchor, and half of the participants are celebrities, with the majority of them being previous reality show competitors.

Alan Cumming hosts The Traitors US, whereas Claudia Winkleman hosted The Traitors UK. Traitors UK aired on 29 November 2022.

Alan is a Tony Award winner, and four-time Emmy nominee noted for his performances on stage and in cinema. He is well recognized for his appearances in The Good Wife as Eli Gold, Schmigadoon! as Mayor Aloysius Menlove, Goldeneye as Boris Grishenko.

Alan will be hosting The Traitor for the first time. Jenny Groom, EVP of Unscripted Content, commented on bringing Cumming on as host, stating that Alan is a better person to serve as master of this series.

As per Collider, his wit and eccentricity add the perfect layer of comedy to this thrilling world. 

Claudia Winkleman was the host of the UK version of the show. However, the presenter has confessed that she first refused the position.

The program is fascinating, and Claudia has been dubbed savage by the competitors and the spectators at home after a handful of surprising actions in the first few episodes. 

She had followed along with the rest of the group as violence broke out among the crowd.

The cast of The Traitors UK includes Hannah Byczkowski, Aaron Evans, whereas Arie Luyendyk Jr., Brandi Glanville are the cast from the US.

The Traitors UK has 22 participants who resided in a castle together, with some of them serving as Traitors. Competitors will get kicked out of one of the other contestants every night.

The candidates were all unknowns; however, some of the contestants in the American version will be recognizable faces from reality TV series.

The ultimate mystery game of trickery and suspicion will be played by twenty of America's most clever participants and a mix of celebrity faces and ordinary Americans. They will collaborate on thrilling missions to raise a reward pool of up to $250,000.

Arie Luyendyk is one of the participent in the show Traitors. He is a reality TV personality, estate agent, and former professional racecar driver.

He appeared on The Bachelorette in 12 episodes in 2012 and on The Bachelor in 15 episodes in 2018. Arie Jr participated in the Indy Lights Series and the A1 Grand Prix.

Brandi Glanville 

Brandi Glanville is a star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, joining the show in 2011 and leaving in 2015.

She has made her television debut on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition, and the 2017 Celebrity Big Brother UK season.

Cirie Fields

Cirie Fields is a nurse, mother of three children, and a reality star after participating in Survivor. She has competed in the CBS competition for four seasons.

Cirie has also appeared on The Price is Right and Snake in the Grass in the US.

The Traitors UK was released on 29 November 2022 on BBC iPlayer. The Traitors US was released on Thursday 12 January 2023 on Peacock.

The US version of The Traitors is based in the same Scottish castle as the classic and has more challenging challenges for the Faithfuls and Traitors. Unlike the UK version, all ten episodes are accessible to watch online as they become available.

According to Tech Advisor, the BBC has jumped in and purchased the rights to The Traitors US. All episodes are available as a complete series on BBC iPlayer and will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC Three at a future date.

The Traitors (US) is accessible on Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service. Peacock has three tiers: free, premium, and premium plus. The Traitors US will be accessible on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Three.

Starting on January 25, the show will air every Wednesday at 10.40 p.m. for five weeks. The program will also be broadcast on BBC Three for three weeks. This format will broadcast its first three episodes on January 24, 25, and 26.

The following episodes will run on January 30 and 31 and February 1 and 2. The final three will be released sequentially beginning February 6 and continuing for three days, as per Cosmopolitan.
