The Tomcod Claim in the Bering Sea Gold is partly owned under lease in major parts by  Shawn Pomrenke and Alaska Gold Mining LLC.

In the Bearing Sea Gold, the gold rush in Alaska is taken from the ground to the bottom of the frigid Bearing Sea. It is a reality television series on Norton Sound set in Nome, Alaska.

The series airs on Discovery channel and is known as Gold Divers in the UK. The show's first-ever episode was aired on January 27, 2012. The series is now in its fifteenth season.

The original creators of the Emmy-winning Deadliest Cast created the show. It follows four gold dredges and their crew. The cast attempts to find as much gold as possible before winter sets in, and it becomes too risky to dive.

Who Is The Owner Of The Tomcod Claim?

Shawn Pomrenke also known as Mr. Gold is not the sole owner of Tomcod Claim. It is a large area divided into several leases.

Following the auction, Ken Kerr of California, David Young and Michael Berry of Colorado, Dave McCully, and investor Robert Salna became the principal owner of Tomcod. Ken is a major investment company Alaska Gold Mining, LLC shareholder.

Later Shawn Pomrenke and his father joined the picture. They always dreamed of mining gold, and they realized their dream when they put together Cristina Rose.

The area is regulated for lease by Alaskan state authority. The leases generally have a life span of 10 years and are given up in auctions.

The last known auction was held in 2012, just around Bering Sea Gold started, according to the Reddit community Bering Sea Gold.

Now, Shawn is one of the major players in the mining field. He owns about half the lease claims in the Tomcod area.

The other half is owned by the Alaska Gold Mining company and its shareholders. The Kellys mine for the investment group.

Since both are not 100% owners of Tomcod, they have to share the area. They are also authorized to allow offshore miners to work the lease. Similarly, they can receive royalties from their work, as per Bering Sea Pay Dirt.

Besides the show's cast, a lot of guys who are not featured on the show work on Tomcod. Some work under Shawn's authorization, and the rest under McCully and Ken.

What Is The Conflict Between Mr Gold And The Kellys?

In the most recent season, various conflicts have arisen between the shows cast members. Shawn and Kris can be seen fighting.

The fight between Shawn and Kiris Kelly had also been shown multiple times in the preview of the fifteenth season. The fight starts when Kris is on top of the new dredge he built last season. Christine Rose dumps the button of the Bering Sea on its deck.

Rose and Kelly’s new dredge continued to circle each other while their wonders looked like they were having a significant dispute.

After Pomrenke’s exclusive rights to mine, the area were denied at the end of last season. The site was open to anyone, which is why the two dredges were together.

Shawn is telling off Kris by saying that he will get their permit pulled, and Kris hisses that they are not backing down. They are conflicting over the mining area, where their dredges can mine.

Kris is not the only brother that is getting into a fight. Later in the docks, Andy Kelly and Shawn also had disagreements. The show was aired on Discovery Channel on 6 December, Tuesday.

Kellys and Pomrenke will be at each other throats throughout the season. Things had also gotten heated between the teams in the previous season because of similar disagreements.
