In April, she sentenced a man to 18 months in prison with a $2000 fine.

The older man threatened Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Representative Alexandria Ocasio- Cortes, and prosecutor Kim Fozz. He also threatened a district attorney in Illinois.

His legal team requested a shorter sentence because he was diagnosed with cancer. So, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

3. The DOJ recognized her for her work on a Forth Amendment Appeal.

She received a certificate of appreciation for her outstanding contribution to the mission.

She worked on a Fourth Amendment appeal filed by a defendant in her district. She was an appellant council for the United States at the time in 2019.

The defendant, Reginald Gibbs, filed an appeal to suppress the evidence of a firearm seized by Miami-Dade police in a traffic stop.

She then presented oral arguments in the case and wrote the government's brief. The defendant's conviction was affirmed.

On August 22, Trump asked the court to appoint a special master to review the materials seized from Mar-a-Lago.

Cannon granted Trump's request to be a special master on September 5. She then ordered the Justice Department to stop using the seized materials in its investigation until a further court order.

Many legal experts criticized the soundness of Cannon's order as it may harm national security. 

She ignored the facts and the law. Legal scholar Peter Shane noted that she seems oblivious to the nature of executive privilege.

No court has previously allowed a former president to shield official records from the executive branch.

Despite the shoddy reasoning and seeming unawareness of the responsibility of the position, Aileen Cannon was hardly unqualified for the appointment.
