Adam Laxalt was born in Reno, Nevada. He is the son of Pete Domenici and Michelle Laxalt.

His father was a former U.S. Senator of New Mexic, and his mother was a Republican staffer and daughter of Pete's Senate colleague, Paul Laxalt.

He is the grandson of former Republic Nevada Governor and U.S Senator Paul Laxalt and his wife, Jackalyn Ross.

Laxalt's mother raised him alone as a single parent. Until 2013, his paternity was not publically acknowledged by his parents. Domenici acknowledged that Laxalt was his son.

He was born due to extra-marital affairs between Pete Domenici and Michelle Laxalt. Pete said sorry for his behavior.

Adam Laxalt's Career

In 2014 Laxalt considered a campaign for Nevada Attorney General, and in January, he announced his candidacy.

He was a republic nominee in the general election. He was able to defeat Democratic nominee Ross Miller. 

On January 2015, he was sworn in as state attorney general of Nevada. He then joined lawsuits against the Obama administration over the U.S. Department of labor regulation.

He did so to protect certain employee rights to overtime pay, and Obama's executive action created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals of Americas program.

Laxalt signed Nevado onto at least four known lawsuits supporting abortion restrictions in other states. 

He signed onto two lawsuits supporting the band on the most commonly used second-trimester abortion procedure. He also signed onto a California lawsuit to support keeping secret identities of political donors.

He was the Republic nominee for Governor of Nevada in the 2018 election defeating four other candidates to win the nominee. Unfortunately, he lost the election.

In 2020, Laxalt was Nevada co-chairman of Donald Trump's 2020 re-election campaign. After Trump lost the election, he claimed that large-scale voter fraud had occurred in Nevada without evidence.

Laxalt has now announced his candidacy for Nevada's 2022 United States Senate election. He won the Republican primary in June 2022.
