Mark and Mae married in November 2022 at BK Historic House and Gardens in New Orleans. It is a historic house museum built in 1826.

The couple met in New York City after Mae moved from Boston. The duo hilariously met in 2015 when Mae was on a date with another guy. As per her podcast, Mae couldn't stop thinking about Mark, so her roommate told her to text him.

She sent him a Facebook message. After the first contact, the two became acquainted and started dating. Planert was not a comedian when the relationship began. She grew intrigued only afterward.

She was first afraid to reveal her interest because she thought people would credit her for having a renowned boyfriend. Planert did not ask Normand for assistance and even concealed her beginnings in comedy from him, as mentioned by The Things.

He discovered she performed stand-up comedy six months later when they were both scheduled for the same event. As they continued to spend time together, they became infatuated with one another on and off stage.

Bittersweet Confections managed the bakery items. Mae's wedding attire was done by Lela Rose, Ines Di Santo, Freya, and Lelet.

Lela Rose and Ines Di Santo designed the wedding dress, whereas Freya made hairbands and Lelet made hair accessories.

Fete Fone made an Audio Guest Book. The Mixed Nuts is an International Special Events Band performed on the big day of Mark and Mae.
