Rebecca, the late daughter, died in a car crash in 1993 at 22, when she was at the beginning of her career in journalism. On February 11, 2017, Mike posted a Birthday post to the late Rebecca and described her unfulfilled dreams and early days.

Mark, the MBA degree holder, is a private person and graduated from Ohio State University. His Linkedlin account reveals him as a fifth-grade social studies teacher.
