Miniyothabo Baloyi Biography: Meet Constantino Chiwenga New Wife And Family

Miniyothabo Baloyi is the army colonel and new wife of Zimbabwe Vice President Constantino Chiwenga. She was born and raised in Nkayi, Bulawayo, Matebeleland North, Zimbabwe, and is Army Colonel and language translator by profession.

Baloyi received her primary and secondary education in Zimbabwe. Then, she studied Chinese Language Mandarin at PLA University of Foreign Languages China in 2005. 

Chiwenga's wife obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chinese from the university. She received a Master's and Doctoral degree from Midlands University in Business Administration, Business Leadership, and Management in 2019.

She has served in the army of Zimbabwe National Army since her 20s. Baloyi was an ordinary member of the national military who got promoted to colonel. The upgrade was possible due to her educational background and connections with the former army commander and current vice president of Zimbabwe.

Being a member of the national army, Baloyi plays a crucial role in Zimbabwe's government as a linguistic translator, mostly between Zinanwean and Chinese government officials. She is fluent in English, Chinese Mandarin, French, Zulu, Shona, and Ndebele, which makes her perfect as a translator for the government.

Miniyothabo Baloyi is best known for being the new wife of Zimbabwean politician Constantine Chiwenga. The Vice President married his long-time partner, the presidency announced in June. The love birds said their vows in a private ceremony accompanied by their family and close friends.

Baloyi, the Zimbabwe National Army colonel, operates a high-end boutique in Harare. Currently, she is a breath away from becoming the first lady of Zimbabwe.

She is the daughter of a school's headmaster and attended Ekusileni Mission and JZ Moyo High School for her secondary education growing up in Sabhabha in Filabusi. Although Baloyi had a difficult upbringing, she ranked among the top ten students in the class.

The colonel grew up with a stepmom and encountered a lot of discomforts at school. It ultimately affected her upbringing; however, she persevered, and her schoolwork performance helped her build a life out of a challenging situation. She is described as quiet and reserved by her close ones. She played netball at school and actively participated in singing at the scripture union.

Miniyothabo Baloyi is currently 46 years old. 

She was romantically involved while Constantine Chiwenga was still legally married to his second wife Marry Mubaiwa, a former model. She is the mother of three of the Vice President's children. Their divorce went through at the Harare High Court in February, clearing the way for him to marry his long-time lover.

The Zimbabwean politician got into a bitter struggle with his ex-wife, Marry. The latter was accused of attempting to forge a marriage certificate while the politician remained hospitalized in South Africa. His ex-wife was convicted of violating the Marriage Act, and the Zimbabwean court recently terminated their marriage.

In 2019, Chiwenga was airlifted to China for treatment, and Baloyi was among the handful of people permitted to visit him. He then banished his then-wife, who was later changed over an alleged plan to kill him in a South African hospital. He customarily married Mubaiwa in 2011 after he divorced Jocelyn Jacobsen, his first wife.

After returning from China, Chiwenga caused his second wife's arrest on December 14, 2019. He accused her of attempted murder in the hospital in July that year. Mubaiwa was also charged with fraud, money laundering, and the assault of their former child-minder.

Miniyothabo is not active on Instagram or any social media platforms. 

The Zimbabwe National Army colonel might have made her social accounts private or doesn't have a profile on social media sites. However, her beloved husband Chiwenga is available on Twitter under the username @VPChiwenga. He joined the service in September 2017 and has 4,886 followers with only 21 tweets.

On December 23, the Presidential Press Secretary stated that President Emmerson Mnangagwa appointed Constantine and then state-security minister Kembo Mohadi as the Vice-Presidents of the ruling ZANU-PF party. Both officials were confirmed as the state Vice-Presidents on December 27.

Chiwenga and Mohadi attended their swearing-in ceremony the next day. On December 28, Constantine became the Vice President of Zimbabwe, and Modai was appointed as the Second Vice-President. The next day, he was chosen as Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs.

In August, he was appointed Minister of Health and Child Care. Chiwenga succeeded Obadiah, who was sacked over corruption a month earlier in awarding coronavirus testing contracts. Tenda Biti, a Member of Parliament, stated the appointment violated the constitution, which said the Vice President is not legally permitted to hold any other public office.
