Maria Cantwell Early Life, Parents and Education
Maria Cantwell is the daughter of Paul Cantwell and Rose Cantwell.
She was raised in a predominantly Irish American neighborhood on the South side of Indianapolis.
She was born on October 13, 1958. Now Maria is 63 years old and spent her childhood in Indianapolis.
Her father worked for U.S. Representative Andrew Jacobs Jr. Jacobs was the democratic nominee for Mayor of Indianapolis in 1979.
Paul served as a country commissioner, city councilor, state legislator, and chief of staff.
Her mother, Rose, was of Irish and German ancestry. She served as an administrative assistant.
Education
Cantwell went to Emmerich Manual High School and, in 2006, was later inducted into the Indianapolis Public Schools Hall of Fame, then completed her high school.
She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, after high school. She earned a bachelor's degree in Arts and public administration.
In 198, She moved to Seattle, Washington, for the campaign for U.S. Senator Alan Cranston for the 1984 Democratic Presidential nomination, but it went unsuccessful.
Later she moved to Mountlake Terrace and then led a successful campaign to build a new library there in 1986. In 2000, She lived with her in Edmonds, Washington.
